Five FREE design resources
While I believe you should always use a reputable designer to create your brand - what about when it comes to maintaining it?
Are you worried about incurring designer fees every time you have to created a branded asset?
Never fear! I’m here to offer up some free solutions.
Unsplash.com
Unsplash offers a bank of high quality, royalty free stock images.
The best thing about Unsplash is that the photos aren’t your usual overly “stocky” type stock images (no ladies laughing while eating a salad here!).
A note: when you use an Unsplash stock image, even though you don’t have to, it’s nice to credit the original photographer.
color.adobe.com
Adobe Colour is Adobe’s free colour palette tool.
With this you can create colour palettes from scratch, extract a colour palette from an image you like, or even create an accessibility friendly colour palette.
Canva
I may sh*t on Canva logos but as a free design tool, you can’t beat it.
In Canva you can:
Create social media post designs
Design basic printed materials such
as business cards or posters
Put together infographics
Put presentation decks together
Canva has a handy feature too where you can save your brand colours, fonts and imagery so it’s always immediately to hand.
You better believe that I’m a Pin Queen. A Pin-A-Holic. Pin Obsessed.
Pinterest makes it so easy to gather visual inspo for your brand.
As a designer I love it when clients come to me with their pin-boards. Together we can discuss what will and won’t work in alignment with your business goals.
Adobe Express
Adobe Express is basically Adobes version of Canva, except on Express you can also create videos.
