The problem with logos made in Canva
While I’ve spoken in the past about how I think Canva is great for (some) graphic design work, it should never be used for your logo design.
I even encourage you to accept the help of your brothers 14 year old son if you have to.
Here are the many problems with using a logo designed in Canva:
1. Logos made using Canvas logo templates are NON-EXCLUSIVE and you can’t register them as a trademark.
2. Canva is used by literally millions of people all over the world. Even if you find a design you really like (and there are some lovely pre-made ones available) you will not have a unique design that’s exclusive to your company. Do you want to immediate communicate that your business is generic?
3. A logo is not a brand - and you can’t create a brand over-night. Fast and cheap solutions will attract fast and cheap customers.
When you hire a professional brand designer, you get so much more direction for your brand than just a logo design. By crafting a thoughtful strategy and visual identity (branding), we can highly influence what that aura conveys - thereby increasing conversions and furthering connection with your desired customers. These are things a logo alone cannot do.
